He was a man to be feared and revered. Originally an anti-military, non-violent, medical student, Che soon began to notice a cruel pattern of injustice in the world. He believed that the countries in the Northern hemisphere of the "Western world", specifically the United States and Soviet Union, were oppressing and exploiting the people of Latin America. After educating himself in Marx, Engels, and Freud and much political activism in his young life, he banded with Fidel Castro and Co. to use guerilla warfare tactics against the Batiste regime in the Cuban Revolution. Che Guevara, second only to Castro, began taking active measures and eventually made a martyr of himself in his work to free Cuba and others from the villainous grip of the consumer beast, dwelling 90 miles to the North.
